There is no sign of any excitement – at least not in roland schultheib's case – before the festivities begin. "I am totally relaxed, says the chairman of the TSV. He and the club are facing a "mega party" this weekend. The sports club celebrates its 100th birthday. Birthday extensively. A four-area DJ party, assures schultheib, has not been seen here in the coburg south yet.
In the otherwise tranquil grobheirath part of the community, international disc jockeys will play a variety of music in the tent village over two nights. But that's not all: the people of rossach are expecting joey heindle, jesse ritch and hamed anousheh. The young men are familiar to the younger audience from the show "deutschland sucht den superstar" (germany is looking for a superstar) known.
On the sports field, preparations for the festival began in the middle of the week. Many club members have lent a hand over the past few days, picking up hammers and screws, laying boards and preparing the site. A "village with three rough tents stands in the meantime on the gelande. It is not surprising that with so much work there is hardly any time for a talk. But roland schultheib still takes it easy.
First, the chairman takes a look back at the club's history: TSV rossach was founded 100 years ago – precisely on 19. July 1912 – founded as a pure gymnastics club. Today, the club has 360 members and consists of a football section with two senior and seven junior teams and a gymnastics section. Schultheib and his deputy bernd schneider attach particular importance to youth work. "We look after 100 children and young people", explains the chairman. These will get their money's worth this weekend."
Fun for everyone
Tonight is the first part of the big tent party. In four "areas the djs heat things up – in the soul lounge, in the dance stadium, in the viva-brasil bar and in the corner with house-dance-techno music. The head of the association is sure: "everybody can have a good time."
The idea for the disco village was borrowed from a sports club in schweinfurt. "I thought: this is something special to celebrate an anniversary", says the chairman. The festivities committee has also succeeded in bringing the DSDS contestants to the itzgrund. The teenie-boppers jesse, joey and hamed also come to the autograph session today before they "rock the tent. Above all, the smart swiss singer jesse won the hearts of the "DSDS" teenagers-spectators in the storm. The 20-year-old reached third place in the spectators' poll, the 18-year-old joey came in fifth, and hamed landed in sixth place.
1000 visitors, at least
Roland schultheib is particularly looking forward to the dj party, which continues on saturday evening. "Then we count again with 1000 visitors." The association has booked a whole range of security staff to ensure that the weekend runs smoothly. After two days of the rather noisy kind, sunday starts in a relaxed way: with a church service. Afterwards there will be a colorful program for children and adults. For the members, it's a case of "taking a deep breath" afterwards." Despite all the peace and quiet, the chairman was still concerned about one major worry: "we hope that the weather will cooperate over the weekend and that it won't come down like a thunderstorm."
