Station celebrates 40. Birthday

The diaconia station in bamberg has two reasons to celebrate: it has already been in existence for 40 years, and since the beginning of this year it has had a new director in cornelia betz. Therefore the diakonie bamberg-forchheim, carrier of the diaconia station, and the team invite to the service on friday, 30. November, at 1 p.M. All interested parties are invited to the bamberger erloserkirche.

The first outpatient care services were provided in bamberg by the protestant church as early as 1888. Parish nurses helped out at the st. St. Stephen’s community social service. In walsdorf, where the bamberg diaconal station now has a branch, home care services were also offered before the second world war and continued in 1947. Since 1986, a social center has been located in the aurachtal region through the walsdorf deaconry association. In 1977, the bamberg diaconal association was founded in bamberg, which also set up a social station the following year. In 2000, the association transferred the station to the diakonie bamberg-forchheim, which eventually also took over the walsdorf outpatient nursing and care services. Since then, the team from the memmelsdorfer strabe location in bamberg and, since 2014, also from the support point in the "small schoolhouse" has been providing care for people with dementia in walsdorf from people in their homes who need care and support.

A wide range

The services offered range from advice on housekeeping and help in everyday life to care for dementia patients, from care courses for relatives to care for the seriously ill.
